Week #7: Sophia
Hayden Public Library’s seventh Reader of the Week is 8 year old Sophia.  Her family includes parents, Amanda & Levi, 19 year old sister, Brisha, 18 year old sister Shelby, and 13 year old sister Hailey.  The family also has a Dachshund named Junior and two goats, Buddy & Spot.

Sophia enjoys playing with her friend Lewis. She will be in the third grade this fall and she enjoys math, and reading Dr. Seuss books. Teal is her favorite color and watermelon is her favorite food! She likes to watch the movie “Sing.”

This young lady wants to be an Alaskan State Trooper when she grows up, which was inspired by the TV show “Alaskan State Trooper.” She likes to go to the lake to swim and go boating in her free time. The family enjoyed going to Denver to Water World and Fort Collins to visit family. Sophia’s advice to other kids is “Read every day!” Sophia was soooo surprised when she found out she was the Reader of the Week.

Week #8   Rowan 

          Hayden Public Library’s eighth Reader of the Week, is twelve year old Rowan, he has lived in Hayden his whole life. His parents are Jo & Josh.  Rowan is an only child but enjoys playing with his friends Waylon, Aslan and Shawnee. The family has a black lab Bo.

          Rowan’s favorite colors are red and black and his favorite food is sushi, more specifically the Dougzilla roll, his favorite subject at school is English.  His favorite TV show is Stranger Things on Netflix.  He wants to be a chiropractor when he grows up.  His favorite book series it the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. His favorite sport to play and watch is baseball.  In his free time, he enjoys playing the video game “Fortnite” and reading.

Rowan has been coming to the library since he was little, and has been in story hour. He recently enjoyed going to the Book Trails Camp Wild in Steamboat, one of the books he enjoyed while there was Mr. Poppins Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater. He is looking forward to going to Disneyland in California this summer. When asked if he had any advice for other kids about reading he said, “Read stuff you like!” Rowan said he was not surprised he won because every time he comes in he puts his name in the box, and he did think it was “cool” because he wanted to be in the newspaper.
